"LSE Arena Project: Ukraine: Overcoming Polarisation Around Historical Narratives"

Based at the Institute of Global Affairs (IGA) within the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Arena is an innovative programe dedicated to overcoming the challenges of disinformation and its detrimental effects on societies.

The project hopes to help unite the country at a time when history is being used to divide society in dangerous ways. It will be focused on finding effective practices and insights to overcoming polarisation in Ukraine.

The project is headed by:

Anne Applebaum, a journalist and prize-winning historian with a particular expertise in the history of communism and the experience of post-communist 'democratization' in the Soviet Union and central Europe.

Peter Pomerantsev, an author and TV producer. He specializes in propaganda, media development, and the challenges of the information war.
