The Petro Jacyk Education Foundation (PJEF) is a registered Canadian charitable organization, established in 1986 by an endowment from Ukrainian born Toronto businessman and philanthropist, Peter (Petro) Jacyk.

The founder believed that philanthropy is a driving force behind positive change in society. In the decades prior to establishing a Foundation, Peter Jacyk undertook, developed and financially supported projects in the areas of education, Ukrainian culture, community development and human rights. Since the first substantial contributions in the 1960s, Jacyk built upon his philanthropic objectives by establishing an Education Foundation and served as its first President from 1986 to 2001. Peter Jacyk’s efforts have been continued by his daughter, Nadia Jacyk, who since its inception, served on the Board of Directors and in 2001 assumed the role of the Foundation’s President.
