Milestone Celebrations: Petro Jacyk Centennial & The Hrushevsky Translation Project
2021 marks the 100th anniversary of Peter Jacyk's birth and the completion of the monumental English translation project of Mykhailo Hrushevsky's History of Ukraine-Rus', produced by the Peter Jacyk Centre for Ukrainian Historical Research at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) at the University of Alberta.
To celebrate and commemorate these two extraordinary events, the Petro Jacyk Education Foundation hosted an online Milestone Celebrations event on September 30th, 2021. This was an exclusive online evening of informative speakers, musical interludes, and enjoyment, which honoured guests attended from the comfort of their own homes.
Also, the Petro Jacyk Education Foundation released a series of short videos about Peter Jacyk, his values and philanthropy, as well as the Hrushevsky Translation Project, featuring scholars, directors and community leaders.
